Your Challenge: Create a prototype toy for patients at Children’s Hospital!

In collaboration with CU Senior Mechanical Engineering students, Children’s Hospital Colorado and Myra Makes, we will embark on a special journey as we explore empathy design and invent toys that patients can enjoy playing with while in their hospital bed. The hospital has developed specific criteria and constraints that must be met in order to keep patients safe. With this in mind, we’ll begin exploring materials and design thinking, then refine this knowledge to brainstorm toy ideas with our engineering students. These ideas will be crafted into prototypes, which will help inspire the creation of a new toy for the patients of Children’s Hospital. Together with our engineers, instructors and students, this will prove to be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
