The Front Range floods of 2013 provide the context for this module’s explorations of cutting-edge technologies, math, and wave science applications used to understand erosion and the impacts of natural disasters. Using computer models, simulations, video and an engaging hands-on activity, learners will develop understandings of Colorado’s watersheds, weather, climate and the ways scientists’ measure and understand the variables that control how severe weather events impact communities and water quality.
