This class applies the STEM concepts of forces, motion and measurement to innovative, research-based science and engineering opportunities from CU Boulder. Teams of learners will explore thermopolymers, their applications in Photo-Origami, and their use as actuators in 3D printed machines and devices. Using a unique progression from observation to scientific inquiry and engineering design, this class guides the generation and application of force-related data informing engineering design choices based on the measurable characteristics of various colors and forms of heat-shrink films.

Program Resources for this class have been added to the original Photo-Origami Teacher Resource Page from the Engineering is Everywhere STEM Workshop. Click here to access Teacher Resources.
